70–75% Mourvèdre, 14–16% Grenache, 8–9% Cinsault, 2–3% Carignan. Certified Organic, Practicing Biodynamic. Shows a deep ruby color. Aromas of dark fruit. Intense smooth tannins. After 5 or 6 years of aging, the wine will develop notes of leather, forest-floor and small red fruit.

In the 90’s Susan and I read the “Year in Provence” essays by Peter Mayle and soon after discovered this beauty from Bandol. Considered the “Grand Cru” wine of Provence, its nose opens up like a bouquet of flowers and you can imagine yourself sitting on the shore of the Mediterranean, sun beaming down, as you float away after a few glasses.

The 2020 vintage is special as it marks the last vintage before the passing of their famous matriarch Lulu, at 103. She is now joined, with her husband, in wine heaven thus the re-naming of the wine to “Lulu & Lucien” - stop in and grab a couple bottles of this very special wine.
