Bosquet Chateauneuf du Pape CHANTE le MERLE Rhone Red

Review: The old vine cuvée, the 2019 Châteauneuf Du Pape Chante Le Merle Vieilles Vignes is 85% Grenache and 15% Mourvèdre brought up mostly in foudre, with a small portion in demi-muids. Its deep ruby hue is followed by a stunning array of ripe black raspberry and cherry fruits as well as ground pepper, Provençal garrigue, sandalwood, and exotic spices. Beautiful on the palate as well, it's medium to full-bodied and has a layered, rich, concentrated mouthfeel, building, firm tannins, and outstanding length. It will benefit from 4-5 years of bottle age and shine for two decades.
